success!!! got it to work, although, fyi, I used just the ip.bin and 1st_read.bin files without running through binhack (still kept giving me errors) and created the cdi. worked like a charm! Thanks a bunch!!!!!

Here's the steps of what I did:
1) Copy original .cdi contents (NOTE: contents) into DATA directory.
2) Find ip.bin, 1st_read.bin somewhere and run binhack on them.
3) Copy ip.bin, 1st_read.bin to DATA directory.
4) Run b2b_game.bat
5) Use Daemon Tools 3.29 (NOTE: 3.29, not 3.46 or else it won't work) to emulate image.cdi
6) Enjoy the game....

oh and for the 1stread.bin thing which makes my DOA 2 LE Boot now

also I have a few other games which lock up at the sega logo like DOA did.


If I used the 1stread thing you provided could they work?

i mean do all Sega dreamcast games use the same 1stread thing.

747,896,975byte(doa2.cdi)->work->856,831,184byte(image.cdi)
but not working...only black windows......

I don't understand why so many people have problems with daemon tools versions... I use the most recent v. 3.46 and I never got a problem... strange... must have something to do with cdrom drivers in general.....

what this version of Daemon tools allows is to read Unreadable images

Use Daemon Tools 3.29 (NOTE: 3.29, not 3.46 or else it won't work) to emulate image.cdi

DOA 2 LE works great thx guys

My (modified) doa2le.cdi is only 746,497,232 bytes.

you can del the 0DUMMY.BIZ in doa2 cdi ,then make a new cdi .it will be smaller,only about 400MB

you can open the 0DUMMY.BIZ in doa2 cdi with winhex ,then you can see much 00 00
so it isn't for game ,you can del it .the game will still works great
and the cdi is only about 400MB

try it ~~

If you don't want to install a down-level Deamon-Tools, then try burn that CDI image via Alcohol onto a CDRW or something, then use DiscJuggler to rip that CDRW. It worked for me, at least in this case.

I'm trying another backup I have here and It is Non boot, it has no IP.bin and no 1stRead bin.

What can I do to get it to boot?

hmmm in DOALE that file is named 0ADUMMY.DAT, not 0ADUMMY.BIZ mebe your game version is different from ours.

all the hex numbers are 3737

In the earlier posts there is 1st_read.bin and fastbot progrmt to make self-bot. Just use this 1st_read.bin ans io.bin will be created by fastbot.

nero image drive can mount the cdi image from fastboot.

teh IP.bin is the problem with DOALE.

download this correct IP.bin and put it in data folder for image creation.

Thx,akito20，I download doa2 le from bt website, at the beginning, Chanka0.2 can't play it but just black screen, I did as what you post above, and it really works,great!
though the game speed of doa2 le is slow, I'm content with what I've got at present.
BTW,someone said Alcohol120% can't read the disc we make, it appears that the alcohol120% indicates that "please insert disk" when I have inserted doa2 le I've made in the driver,but it really doesn't matter, I still use Chanka0.2 emulate it successfully,although the fighting looks like slow motion
my computer:
AthlonXP1800+ oc 2000+, Ti4200 video card, 512M DDR400, windowsXP+sp1
Alcohol120% 1.48

yeah DOALE framerate sux, its impossible to enjoy it at 16 fps.
