hi, i was told to move this thread over to this board...
anyways my names jahrain and for a while now i been working on a project called Zelda Online: Ocarina of Time, basically its a recreation of the n64 version of zelda for the pc and its made for online multiplayer action, the game play is gonna b emulated to the best of the engine's capasity, but its still under heavy work, anyways this project will contain many many diferent levels from zelda optimized to b player with other poeple over the internet, with deathmatch, or team play options in a veriety of different gametypes. it uses the halo pc engine so it requires a copy of halo for the pc and the the halo ce free downloadable expansion to play it. Im looking for help in getting things like textures and sounds from the n64 rom to make the project appear as close to the original as possible. i tried several different texture viewes and sound bank extractors but most never worked and stuff was all garbled and distorted... i was wondering if anyone here knew of any easy to use (ui support) sound and texture extractors, so far the only way i been able to gather textures was from screen printing them while looking at the textures. and to gather sounds i would use windows sound recorder... they quality was so good so im looking to see how to grab the info straight off the rom... if anyone here could help out with that, it would extremely appreciated.

il post this in several diferent threads incase someone misses out on it

heres a link to where u can see accual ingame video footage.

if anyone is interested in what this project looks like heres some screen shots of whats been done so far in the project. please note that anything still remaining thats halo related will b removed completly by the time this project is released. hopefully sometime this summer or early fall.
theres gonna b just about every multiplayable map in that game rebuilt al the way from hyrule field to those forgoton areas like desert colosus and the main area of the water temple... maybe about 16 - 20 maps in all but released in map packs of about 3 at a time.

Looks nice, but why the Halo engine? That restricts the project a lot, in terms of distribution, and the fact that you're making an adventure game. There's a number of great engines geared for this stuff. Nonetheless, you can email me at [email protected] if you need help, I'm a 2D/3D graphics artist as well as a C++ programmer.

y halo engine? well for one there not much engines that lets u build level bsps in your own 3d model software, 2 u can do a total conversion mod without any programming what so ever, 3 its not an adventure game its built for online multiplayer, 4 halo pc is dieing out and something like this can resurect, 5, i considered making this for unreal and source egnine, both im familiar with but, my mod will not stand out agains the 1000s of other mods being released for them every day and also u can refer back to 1 and 2. and halo ce is a free downloadable app that supports multiplayer only and user created mods.

Halo PC's engine isn't all that bad, although it takes its toll on GeForce FX cards cause of the riddiculous shader coding, this may give me a reason to start playing it again :)

Give me back my floppy face!
Could you still have the option to add a warthog in the final release? Because, that would make everyone crack up laughing each time they played it. It'd be more fun that way.

This may actually give me a reason to dust Halo off finally. Bought it when it came out, installed it, played a couple days, then removed it. Never touched since.

Color me impressed, I like the look of that a lot, and nothing is funnier then Link in a Warthog, and I hate Halo, but that would make me want to play with it a bit more.

It's looking great, but as some others said, why the Halo Engine? I mean there are lots of alternatives, like Crystal Space (PlaneShift) and the title sounds more like an MMORPG. But ROFL Link in teh Warthog! Keep up the good work!

Awesome

It's been like a year since anyone posted here, but i'd like to know where all this has gone, because i began playing halo PC and saw some zelda mod, i guess it's this one, never tested it, but i'd really like to know what happened with this project and if there's a downloadable version somewhere.
It seems/seemed to kick ass even in beta and a project like that must not be stopped!
If anyone knows more than me about this, please answer this post!
Have a nice day guys!
