I'm curious - what's so good about Mupen64? Other than the recording feature, I don't see what makes this better than PJ64 (1.6 - which can play Donkey Kong 64), if it's claimed to be that.

This emulator is cross-platform, open-source and supports some cool frame buffer features well.

And when used with Glide64 plugin, it fixes corona problems. It also supports some ROMs that Project64 even doens't, like Taz Express and many others. It is a nice alternate from Project64 and 1964. It has a couple or so downfalls, like the forced use of the expansion pak, and no GameShark cheats or NetPlay, but can be used exceptionally to other emulators.

On BigHead's configuration list of the best emulator and plugin combo for each N64 game, you'll see the term 'Mupen64' used a lot.
