Video Card MALFUNCTION

I was playing Ocarina of time, when an error came up. I checked my video card and it was disabled (?). So I enabled it. I restarted, then it was still off, but it said it was on. There was some error. I restarted again, and when it gets to the login screen, and beyond, it's nothing but black, but you can still do stuff..... If I get a new card, will it reset my harddrive?

How exactly would a new video card "reset" your hard drive? I'm curious.

For future reference, things that CAN screw up your data:

1. Resetting your harddrive (Installing a new OS, reformatting)
2. Destroying your harddrive (By extreme temperatures or bad conditions, etc)

Installing a new video card will not effect your harddrive. It shouldn't cause a problem with your OS, either, but you may need new drivers.
