This comp should be fine for rippins and xvid encoding dvd's?

2.4ghz... yes, yes it is... heck mine is suitable to encode xvid. but I usually do DivX... no big difference. But as you know more speed = faster encoding, 2.4ghz is pretty good.

It's a bit expensive IMO.
