Are you referring to Rolled Thoroughput Yield and Defects Per Million Objects? I'm guessing so.

Rolled Thoroughput Yield is basically the chance that a product can make it through a series of production steps without becoming defective. It is calculated thusly:

Let's say there are 3 steps in our production sequence. The DPMOs for the 3 steps are 5215, 4306, and 8628. This equals yields of 0.994785 0.995694, and 0.991372, respectively. Simply multiply them together (0.994785 * 0.995694 * 0.991372) to get the RTY, which in this case is 0.981955, give or take a few decimal places.
