Problems with games on Project64, Please help!

Some things in the games I play on the Project64 Emulator don't really work. Like some things are just squares without color.

For example:

Mario Kart - Smoke and dust is just squares.

Mario Golf - All the trees are big white squares. Every single one, and the trees take up a lot of the level and they're all over. It's very annoying.

Turok - When I shoot a gun it's just a tan square wherever I shoot and when I shoot people and dinosaurs it's a red square.

Paper Mario - When they walk they always kick dust up so the squares are almost always there, and the menus are pretty glitchy.

Hey You, Pickachu! - Almost the whole game is just white. You can't see anything. Though I can't play the game anyway because it requires the voice recognition microphone thing for the controller, but still, the game is messed up so it could very well be like that for other games.

And most of my games lag. Sometimes the screen blinks and the framerate drops.

Anyone else have these problems? Can someone help me with this? Is it because I'm using Project64? It says in it's game compatibility list that a lot of the games have no problems and the others' problems are minor. Is the list just not right, or does it have something to do with me? Does this happen to anyone else?

Help would really be appreciated because I really wanna play these games without the annoying squares all over the place

I'm not a big computer whiz or anything so I don't know what to tell you, but here is what is on my computer so tell me if there's anything I need to add in:

1.5 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 processor

256 MB SDRAM memory

40.0 GB Ultra DMA hard drive

32 MB nVidia TNT2 M64 graphics card with 32 MB SDRAM

That's all that it says on my comp so tell me if there's any other information I need to provide.

Your video card is the most likely to make gfx disappear. Or not show. Get eVoodoo & Glide64 (all found below). They should make it look better.
Don't forget to check how to speed up Glide64.

Geoz

De Master
maybe u could try switching plugins say try daedalus for example
and to stop lag u could try switching the sound off

How do I get Glide64 and eVoodoo XP to work? I downloaded and unzipped them in the folder that Project64 is in but the squares and all are still there.

Do I have to set up something? I don't really understand what all of that stuff is.

Ok, it's in the Plugin folder and it's activating now, but it messes up all the games. Most of them don't work at all now or they work until I play then it has an error.

What's wrong with it?
