Problem with playing a specific game

So, I have been wanting to reply an old game I used to love called fur fighters. I've run into a problem where when the game starts up, It will load, then act like I walked into a load zone, then load me way further in the game then I am supposed to be. I've tried using a different bios region, and at first I thought it worked, but the next time I loaded the game it did the same thing. Doesn't seem to matter where I was when I stopped playing. And, of coarse, when I load into where I shouldn't be, the game saves.

Any tips?
