i have been looking EVERYWHERE for info on settings or a certain emu to play this rom. it is driving me insane...i see plenty of topics from like 2 years ago and even since then NO ONE has responded...so i doubt anyone will to this either...
BUT, if you have played this or still are playing this, PLEASE let me know what settings/emu you are using...
thanks

On my machine (Athlon750, GeForce4Ti) Using PJ64 1.5 with Jabo Direct3D6 1.5 the pieces are visible but they are grayscale. This is playable with default settings. But it doesn't run at full speed... (usually 10-25fps during gameplay)

thats what i get too

i get the greyscale as well and i dont care about the lousy framerate...but it always hangs...after about 2 mins of play it hangs and i have to restart pj64. this is the only game that i have anything hang on so i dont think there is an issue with anything but settings. thanks for the reply..
if you could tell me if you changed anything or if you have had this type of problem.

well,

it freezes for me too, but after about 5-10 minutes it picks up where it left off with a big framerate boost and then the fps drops off again...so maybe if you wait long enough it'll resume like mine...

thank you

it works! it finally works!
the backgorund is still fubar and there are lines through the screen and the blocks are well just that...blocks...BUT the framerate holds at 50 fps and gameplay is great!
also, it works just as well in PJ64 using the same rice plugin that you recommended.
thanks again!

I have the same problem mentionned, but the Daedalus emulator doesnt like my system, so I deleted it. I just play the old tetris version on my FCE Ultra (NES emulator)

The New Tetris has large gameplay differences from the NES version...

Version 4.3.0 of Rice's graphics plug-in has improved emulation of this game. The pieces are textured better and assorted minor graphical bugs are gone. Also, the menus load much faster.

Oddly enough, 4.4.0 breaks this game again, making it unplayable (invisible pieces), so be sure not to use this version.

You can get the plug-in here:

I've also been dying to play this ROM for the longest time, and have wasted many an hour in trying different settings in versions of many different plugins in order to get the game to work...

I downloaded 4.3.0 like you guys recommended, and it runs fast but for some reason the whole game flickers. It's like the game is rendering every other frame a few inches lower, so the effect is a rapidly flickering 'double-image' that renders the otherwise playable game unplayable... has anyone else had this problem, and if so have they found a way to fix it?

I seem to remember a setting in one other plugin (that otherwise sucked with this game) that was called 'disable internal geometry', believe, that when checked fixed the problem i'm having now. The thing is, there is no such option with the plugins that otherwise run the game well... any ideas?

Specs:
AthlonXP 1600+
GeForce2 Ti 64meg
WinXP Pro

Yeah, I'm that problem too, with the double images and flickering.. the game runs smoothly though except for when the screen shakes. ^_^ anyway I also have a Nvidia GeForce 2... mebbe it's something with the graphics card for that specific game... I dont have many problems with many of the other games except for a few with this card. So I guess the good outweighs the bad. :) :emutalk:

In 4.6.0, many problems are fixed. The tetris blocks are still in solid color, though.

Well I'd like to say that I can agree with you Rice but I can't. With 4.6.0 of your plugin (which I just got today and love) I still have the same flickering and double vision when running in D3D... in OGL I can't see the blocks as they're falling and when they land they all are white... :emutalk:

I know there are problems, so I said many problems were fixed, never said all problems were fixed. I believe all plugins have problems with this game because this game is one of the non-popular games.

Yes, I still have the flickering double-vision with 4.6.0 and also with the Glide/eVoodoo combo.

Maybe you're right jjarmis, it might be a problem that's specific to GeForce2 cards with this game only (I use those plugins for other games, and they work great). Does anyone else have this problem, and if so is it with a GeForce2 card?

Either way, I'm pretty certain that the first plugin/emulator to run this game in a playable state (full speed, visible blocks) is going to be extremely popular (hint hint ;-).

I get the flickering you guys mention (with a Geforce 3 :) ), but only when using pj64. In 1964, it runs well except that the bottom of the screen is missing, so it is still unplayable. The game is quite playable using Deadalus for me though, so I suggest you guys try that.

Oops... I mentioned above that I got invisible pieces in Rices plugin 4.4.0. This only occured when I had Open GL selected. With DirectX, everything runs fine. I fact I went through the trouble of testing all versions of his plugin with this game, and 4.4.0 works best. Version 4.5.0 is playable, but it introduces texture problems with the 3D graphics part of the game. Version 4.6.0 is also playable, but it introduces even more texture problems. So for now, use 4.4.0. You can get it here:

Sorry, guys, my typo. I tried to say the game is not one of the popular games, so no people worked on it.
