I've been thinking about it a lot... I think I'm going to turn that thing so the controller ports (GC) face forward. It looks like a bloody DVD drive.
Standing up is so ghey. This is the first nintendo product that allows it, too...

But it wasn't designed to do that, so it might not be a good idea...

Bah! If it doesn't say not to do it in the manual then it's fair game! Now I just have to find the manual and prove how clever my idea is...

But it doesn't say you should or that it was designed for it either. If it breaks, then it's your fault, and although you'll probably get away with a replacement, it's still frustrating when a console malfunctions or dies on you.
Though as it is cartridge-based, it shouldn't be that bad, but it's another matter with CD/DVD-drive based consoles.
