IRC problems

Im not sure if this is the correct placxe to post this but can some one help me again.

I can't access IRC channels from school I think its because of the firewall does anyone know a way of getting round this without disabling or altering the firewall.

Try using a irc server that uses a port other than 6666/6667

for example irc.homelien.no port 5190

that one isnt in the list for emulation64 java chat

and i cant download mIRC or anything here because it is filtered
