Input problem

Now, this one has me stumped. It doesn't matter which plugin I use, whether I tell it to use a Gamepad or the keyboard, I just can't get Dolphin 1.02 to work. I get a game up and everything, I see its intro playing, I just can't make it think that I'm pressing any buttons. I don't know if this version of Dolphin doesn't support any control stuff or what, but it's quite annoying, really.

Well, I did try the Beta 1.03, and that one works. I just wanted to use 1.02 because GCoS doesn't work on 1.03.
Also, speed issues seem to be in the emulator and not in the CPU. I have gotten the audio to work in SSBM, and while it works it's usually pretty smooth and has no problems, but emulation is slow.
