how do you make gameboy emulator work

Hi, i want to play Pokémon blue on gameboy, what emulator is best, and also how does savefiles work? when i save a game what folder does it go into? i need to know because i need to take backups of my savefiles like with project 64 because i have some savefiles on project 64 where i am completed majoras mask 100% and i wont lose that file because it took me a lot of hard work i have taken backup of it i want to do the same with bgb how to do it?

"The best" is almost entirely subjective. Personally, I use KiGB. In any case, save files are aften saved in either the main folder (where the executable is) or in Battery or Save folders. Again, this depends entirely on how the emulator's options and folder locations are set up.

GameBoy save files more often than not have a -sav exstension, so just look for those in the emulator's own folders.
