Fighting Twinrova

When I played Ocarina of Time on the N64, I didn't have much of a problem fighting Twinrova. But now, playing it on the emulator, I can't seem to get the beam from one sister to reflect onto the other. I know what I have to do, and I think the difficulty must be the result of the difference between a joystick and the arrow keys.

Can somebody who's beat the game on an emulator tell me what controls/settings they used to do so? I've tried this several times now, and the fact that I can't hit either sister is beginning to get annoying. Thanks.

My only suggestions to you are to try to use the mouse or buy a $20 dual-analog gamepad (a good investment if you do a lot of emulation). This battle is probably impossible using keyboard buttons to aim the shield.

I'm going to ask the stupid question here, are you using your keyboard to play PJ64? If so, that's likely the problem right there. You can't get the precision you need to accurately aim your shield from one sister's attack at the other sister. I use a PS2 controller, and had absolutely no problem pawning Twinrova in either form.

try to config the plugin to use the mouse as 2nd option...
it's really impossible to win this game with the keyboard.

If you ARE going to use the mouse, use N-Rage's Direct Input... that'll allow you to configure movements and buttons to the mouse.

Pretty easy to do with a pad. As one sister fires, the other sister wanders about, often near the other sister. Look onto the firing sister with Z-targeting until you get the beam, make sure the arrow is above the other sister and press Z. No manual aiming required.

Yeah, I've been playing with the keyboard only, and it hasn't given me problems thus far. Thanks to everybody who offered a suggestion. I'll try Clements' idea first, because that doesn't require changing the configuration, and if I can't do it like that, I'll try using a mouse.
