<b>Contest, win a free adaptor!</b>

I upgraded the <a href="http://www.emutalk.net/proarcade.php?action=arcade">arcade hack</a> at EmuTalk yesterday, and that meant we lost all 2000+ scores in the database because the hack required dumping the old mysql tables in order not to interfere with the new version. With that explained, I announce a contest at Emu64/EmuTalk where the winner will receive one of the following adaptors: <br><br><a href="http://www.jandaman.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=JIVGA&AFFIL=emu64">A N64/PSX USB Adaptor</a><br><a href="http://www.jandaman.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=JIVGA&AFFIL=emu64">A Skillz Cube Connection USB (NEW PRODUCT!)</a><br><a http://www.jandaman.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=JIVGA&AFFIL=emu64">A Playstation Dual Shock Parallel Port Adapter</a><br><br><b>How to join</b>:<br><br>First of all, you need to be a <a href="http://www.emutalk.net/register.php?referrerid=2">registered member</a>. Registration is completely free and takes only a minute to fill out. Once you have registered and activated your account, visit the <a href="http://www.emutalk.net/proarcade.php?action=arcade">arcade</a> and score as high you can in each of the 5 games (Note: The game Simon is not included). Whoever holds the most high scores by 10 pm GMT Sunday, January 19, will win! The winner will be announced, and I will contact the winner through a private message to ask which of the 3 sweet prizes the winner will pick.<br><br><b>Rules</b>:<br><br>The member who holds the high scores of the most games will win. You are allowed to (and encouraged!) to play as many games you want. There are 6 games in the arcade, but only 5 that are included in the contest: Breakout, Pacman, Snake, Space Invaders and Tetris. To play, click the images below:<br><br><center><a href="http://www.emutalk.net/proarcade.php?action=play&game=breakout"><img src="http://www.emutalk.net/images/arcade/thumb-breakout.gif" border="0"></a> <a href="http://www.emutalk.net/proarcade.php?action=play&game=pacman"><img src="http://www.emutalk.net/images/arcade/thumb-pacman.gif" border="0"></a><a href="http://www.emutalk.net/proarcade.php?action=play&game=snake"><img src="http://www.emutalk.net/images/arcade/thumb-snake.gif" border="0"></a><a href="http://www.emutalk.net/proarcade.php?action=play&game=spaceinvaders"><img src="http://www.emutalk.net/images/arcade/thumb-invaders.gif" border="0"></a><a href="http://www.emutalk.net/proarcade.php?action=play&game=tetris"><img src="http://www.emutalk.net/images/arcade/thumb-tetris.gif" border="0"></a></center><br><br>If no member holds more than one high score, the contest will be extended until until 10 pm GMT Sunday, January 26.<br><br>If 2 members end up with the same amount of high scores, these selected members will fight for the throne for exactly another week, until 10 pm GMT Sunday, January 26.<br><br>The runner up will receive a night with Macca (j/k) ;)<br><br><b>Final words</b>:<br><br>If you wish to see more contests like this one in the future, support us by ordering your adaptors from <a href="http://www.jandaman.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=JIVGA&AFFIL=emu64">Jandaman.com</a>. Didnt we establish that it was possible to cheat on those games? that kinda makes the contest pointless.

It was possible to cheat a few versions back but that's been fixed now...

Worth knowing as well is that it is possible to play with Netscape, but your scores won't be added to the database.

How come I can't hit "Back" in Internet Explorer too play the games again ?
I just did it with Snake and when I died it said I was trying to cheat.

EDIT: Nevermind, just saw the warning at the bottom.

Prepare for Descent.
>If no member holds more than one high score, the contest will be extended until until 10 pm GMT Sunday, January 26

What would happen if there is no winner by that date?

I was just playing the java game Breakout, and got a score of approx 5,000. Tried again and got a score of approx 6,000.

I tried again later (I was sure to hit the "refresh" button), and I was doing really good (more awake), and I still had 2 balls left and I had approx 10,000 for a score, and then suddenly my ball was going through the rectangles up top! Only one, but sure enough I just could not hit it. Thinking it was a graphical glitch, I panned the ball through all the open spaces but no luck.

So I let the ball drop into that forbidden void, and bang it tossed me a ball (now only 1 left) and it reset that room I was in with lots of rectangles......

But now that room had like 4 rectangles that the ball would pass through.

I spent like 20 min, only to have the game glitch up on me.

I tried the snake game, and the imput response for the keyboard really really stinks! When you press directional keys quickly, it doesnt always monitor all the keys that quickly.

I support the whole contest thing, but I wouldn't play these glitchy games even if you offered a bag of gamecubes.

Btw, my computer is completely glitch free with all the patches installed.

I'd say we extend it another week if that happens :)

How about, after the extension begins, the first person to make more than one high score wins. Kind of a sudden death deal.
