Bushido Blade Problems

i'm not shure if this is allowed to ask, it has either to do with the content of the game or with a bad rom. I was looking it up in gamefaq, but found no answer:
Has anyone of you played the game (PSX) ? Is it possible that the story mode is ending after beating just 5 or 6 opponents or is this a problem with my iso-file ?

Does it finish with an ending? or does it just go blackscreen and then nothing?

I can remember you having to do certain things in the actual game to progress past certain parts. Not 100% sure though.

It finishes with a quote from a chinese samurai written in white letters on black screen...when i push any button, it goes back to the main screen.
