Everytime I try to put on the goron mask, during the transformation, I get an access violation that says there is a graphics data error and the game freezes. Any suggestions on what I should try to fix this?

This is normally a video card problem. Very weak graphics cards can produce this error. What is your video card?

S3 Savage 4 with 32 MB memory, I believe that's it, haven't upgraded in about 3 1/2 years and can't remember what's in this thing.

Yep, that's the problem. An upgrade to an ATi/Nvidia card where possible would eliminate the problem for you.
