I purchased an XBOX 360 controller for use in XNA dev-studio development, and found that since it is 100% DirectX compatible, it works perfectly with project 64.

I have already created a controller profile for Project64 that works great for most games.

Question 1: is it wireless w play and charged kit and charge or wired
Question 2: how would i make it work in Project 64

Search the board. There have been plenty threads in the past about getting the X360 controller working in Windows and in emulators.

We even figured out how to play the SIXAXIS on the PC too. This isn't a big discovery, also with the fact that we've known about this for a LONG time now.

k, wired for one. Second, Microsoft announced that their XBox360 Wired Controller would be fully compatible with pc's. However, I used an XBox controller, cut the end off, wired the four same color wires to the four same colors on the usb end, and took the extra fifth yellow wire from the Xbox conroller, and just closed it so it couldn't touch the other wires. Oh, i also kept the colored wires separate, an saudered each wire individually.

XBCD has made a small breakthrough

it appears that the Wireless Control can have the XBCD driver installed as the Reciever appears to be just a standard Wireless HCD hub this means the control device id is passed to the system and allows drivers to be installed for the controller itself.

we have come across a snag though... as the buttons are lighting up all over the place....

if anyone knows anything about Dinput... your welcome to help as the XBCD source code is included with the xbcd installer.
