Nintendo Raids China
Game Boy pirates busted as Nintendo keeps its anti-piracy streak alive.

February 11, 2003 - Today, Nintendo released news of its three new raids on software pirates in China during the month of January. Guangdong Bu Bu Da Electronic Co., Ltd., Asik Technology, Ltd., and Electronic Dragon Ltd. were each targeted in the operations, resulting in the acquisition of more than 300,000 counterfeit GBA games, instruction manuals, packaging, and manufacturing parts. These latest actions bring Nintendo's total anti-piracy efforts in China to a substantial 135 seizures in that country alone.
In 2002, Nintendo globally confiscated one million counterfeit products and estimates a sales loss of $649 million in the videogame industry due to such illegal software reproduction. Looking ahead to the battle in 2003, the company reiterates its aggressive stance:

"Nintendo has never been more aggressive in protecting our unique global brand and our key intellectual properties and China can expect the largest share of our attention again in 2003," comments Nintendo of America anti-piracy director Jodi Daugherty.

We'll bring you more news of Nintendo's ongoing efforts to fight worldwide piracy as it breaks.

I prey, not pray.
lol, china...

I don't think anybody can prevent mass piracy there. Try as they might, nintendo will only barely scratch the surface within their lifetime.
