First you need to get your file on your PC, there are 3 ways to do it:
- go to
this page with a Dreamcast browser and upload your file, then go to
that page with your PC and download the file
- connect your Dreamcast to your PC with a coder's cable or a Broad Band Adapter and launch
VMU Tool -Dream Explorer on your Dreamcast, then follow
this guide
- use a Nexus memory card and its cable with
DCLinker
Note that you need either a VMI+VMS or a DCI, VMI alone is useless as it's just a header with some info.
Once you have your save, place
VMU Explorer in the same directory as Chankast and double click vmuexplorer.bat. Then go to the menu file > import file and select the VMI+VMS or DCI file. Finally save changes with file > save VM.
That's it, now your Dreamcast save is imported in Chankast, you can play your game from where you were on the real Dreamcast. The reverse operation is also possible (from Chankast to real Dreamcast).
