I currently download donkey kong 64 (Donkey Kong 64 (E) [b1]) off of kazaa. I don't think the rom is currupted or anything, it must be the version. Anyways, back to my issue. When I try to run the game using project 64 v1.5b1. I get this error "In a permenent loop that cannot be exited. Emulation will now stop.

Verify ROM and ROM settings."

I did the instruction above, I still don't know what wrong, I really need help, thanks.
My spec:

1.53 AMD Ahtlon XP 1800+
256 DDR RAM
Radeon 8500 LE (WITH LAESTES DRIVER)
Windows XP Professional

Thanks.

Hrm, I got an error agian, this time its different. I've us this as my patcher, seems to be the same as the rom title: Donkey Kong 64 (E) [b1].ips

So, I patch it up, and run the game. The error pops up saying:
error 1: ' Unknown country in LoadPifRom ' I click ok. then..
error 2: ' Unknown Cic Chip ' I click Ok.. Agian
error 3: ' WTF Branch NextInstruction = 3' Then i click okay.
error 4: ' Exucuting form non-mapped space. Verifying ROM And ROM settings' After ok, the screen turns blank.

I've try all the fixes, they all seem to have the first error as the result, only Donkey Kong 64 (E) [b1].ips seems to be a different error.

Thanks.
Game screen turns black.

What a freaking weirdo! did you not see what the other guy typed or WHAT!? The [b1] means that it's been hacked or modified, get one with [!] after the (U), (E), or (J) ****ing ****it!!!

?????????????????????????
Lastly, don't mention where you get your roms. Just say that you have the rom.
And as said, try to grab another one.

I've also run into this error, I downloaded a bad version of the Rom [b1] same as the bloke who started this topic. Yes maybe downloading a clean [!] version would be advised, but that's another 28mb and we don't all live at home with our parents paying for broadband. More to the point, there IS an ips patch designed to fix THIS rom, the topic starter simply followed the instructions and reported back with the results only to be insulted.

I'm not sure myself how to fix this rom as I've tried applying the patch and I get a CIC error also, I think it could be something to do with the byte-order of the original bad rom, any help would be appreciated in fixing this rom, intollerent l33T loosers living at home with their parents\Radeon 9700 pro\Athlon 2600+ who seem to think they are "In dA hOOd" won't be. thanx, Robbo

There are a few possibilities. It says unknown country in pifrom. Sounds like the rom may be named wrong. Make sure you've run goodn64 (using goodwin, available on the same page) on the rom.
If it doesn't rename it, then it may need to have the byte order changed, which tool64 can do, which is also on that page.

calm down m8, after all he is a n00b ;)

Anyways my advice would be to download the [!] version from somewhere, even if u have a 56k its worth the wait wether u pay for the internet or not :p

The patches require the ROM to be in "Big Endian" or "Byteswapped" order, i can't remember which - delete the rom you patched (its no good), take the original ROM, use Tool64 to see which order the ROM is in, and convert to the other, then apply the patch. (you should then scan with GoodN64 to verify that it's now [!].) if this is too complicated, get the good ROM.

Also, that is not the current version of Project64, suggest you download v1.5.

Isn't smiff just grand?
Anyway... I'd suggest never downloading a rom that doesn't have (!) in it's name. Better yet, if you're in the US, never download a rom that doesn't have (U)(!) in it's name.
