N64 controller use w/ PJ64

I recently purchased a psx+n64 usb adapter and also got an official n64 controller. I've plugged the adapter in and it's installed fine and the controller works (tested under control panel>controllers).

I tried to get this to work with the pj64 emulator but have not been successful. I went and tried all the different controller (input) plug ins and none of them recognize that a controller is plugged in. It'll just say NO CONTROLLER when I start an emulation. How can I get this thing to work?

just got it working.. when i configure the controls on the joystick i put everything how it should be but when in game if the joystick isn't completely straight forward (to go forward) then it ends up spinning in circles

can this be fixed?

He meant "Calibrate" your controller.. usually when a new controller is installed , it needs calibrating ( getting your directional buttons in sync)
there should be an option in your controllers menu for that..

yeah, I did do that. On the controllers menu where it tests the x and y axis etc it works like it should (no spinning) however in game it spins when I try to go forward

well, i tried calibrating it again and it seems to work better this time.

it goes forward without a problem but it's spinning in a different way now.. its like the stick is being held to the left the whole time ... but i can walk forward now so it's better than before

could it be the controller itself?

ahh. i figured it out
on the calibration it said to move the z axis up and down
then it asked for the same thing again but really wanted you to move it left and right
thanks anyway i'm off to play some goldeneye

It most certainly can be. When I first bought my N64 I also bought an unofficial controller for it. When I took it home it did that.

Rumble paks don't work with that type of adapter.
