Marvel vs capcom 2 slow down problem

As the title says, i have some speed issues when trying to play marvel vs capcom 2.

In training mode 98% of the time in runs at 50-59 fps.I really don't think it anything to do with my pc,but i'll put down some of my specs just in case:


AMD Athlon X2 64 4200+
300 gb harddrive
2 gb of ram
Integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 200


I think the problem is, me playing the game off of a cd and not Daemon Tools(or any Virtual Drives).The ony reason i won't play it off of a Virtual Drive is, well, everytime i try and install any Virtual Drives my system will just crash on me.So, i can only play games off a cd.

So my question is, how can i make mvc2 run normal?

If the game slows down, it slows down and there sin't much you can do about it. You can however, overclock/underclock the Dreamcast CPU with +/-, but don't expect it to automagically fix whatever speed issues you might be having. It can help, but don't feel bummed out if it doesn't. Sure, running directly from mounted CD images is preferable but playing from a CD should make any difference since AFAIK, the Dreamcast doesn't constantly stream data from the CD. Therefore, possible slowdowns during normal gameplay isn't the CD's fault.

Well, not exactly, it often reads music from CD and it's uses CPU (on emulator of course, blame M$ for that) At least it's a big difference in Street Fighter 3, if you run it from CD it's much slower.

i cant get sfa3 or sfz3 to run on chakst it just crashes mr alucard funy letter's the only way to work around this is a virtual drive. alcohol 120% has a truly excellent virtual drive and while ive had no problems with daemon tool's om sure there are other v-drives available. can you play movie iso's from the hardrive?

i dunno what i do know is even with a v drive mvc2 is glithched....i get sound effect abscence otherwise the games play at a constant framerate. dreamcast is the best 2d fighting console ever hands down,, except maybe an emulator xbox

Well anyways, thx for the help guys.

There are many other emulators that play SFA/SFZ much better and with less spec requirements than chankast.
I use final burn.
