Analogue stick problem

I'm using my original N64 pad via the Boom USB adaptor, but even with the range slider set to 100% I still can't get the full range out of the stick. E.g. Mario and Link are just strolling, even with the stick pressed all the way. Can anyone help?

Calibrate it, via the Gaming Options in your Control Panel.

I just went in the configure thing under control panel and it's showing that my joystick is going crazy. Its reporting that the buttons are all being pressed on and off randomly and the z-axis, whatever that is, is going mad too. When I try to configure it, I get no response. Its as if the buttons arn't even being pressed. And now in Pj64 the controller is unusable. All the buttons and directions are going at once! It was fine yesterday apart from the range thing.

If its one of the adapters that also has a psx slot in it, try jigging about with the little switch for selecting between the two. This fixes it for me anyway.

Thank you both of you. If I put the switch somewhere between PSX and N64 the N64 pad works, so now I can calibrate it and use all of the stick
